Jong-Uk Hou (허종욱)

Assistant Professor, Ph.D.

Jong‑Uk Hou, Ph.D. is a tenured Associate Professor at School of SoftwareHallym University and the Principal Investigator of Multimedia Computing Laboratory (MMCLab), focusing on Medical AI, AI security, and multimedia processing. He earned his Ph.D. from KAIST (2018) under Prof. Heung‑Kyu Lee.  He has received two NRF Excellent Young Researcher (우수신진연구) grants and two NRF Basic Research Lab (기초연구실) projects. His recent accomplishments include several publications in IEEE Transactions, and ongoing AI–medical collaborations with leading hospitals. To date, he has secured over ₩4.3 billion (KRW 4.3B) in research funding and authored more than 40 papers in top-tier journals and conferences spanning artificial intelligence, security, and healthcare technology.
